Ares was suffering from an ACL issue and needed TPLO (due to size, age, and athletic build) surgery to correct and clean out the arthritis. The surgery and hospitalization was over $2,100. Are’s owner was recently laid off from the navy after 14 years of service due to budget cutbacks and needed funds for Ares’s surgery, so they contacted STARescue for assistance
Ares had his surgery on June 27th. The doctor says that everything went perfectly and he will have a full recovery.
“Thank you to everybody for coming together and for all of the generous contributions. Your help comes at a crucial moment in our lives, and has allowed us to receive the care that Ares needs to improve and maintain his quality of life. Ares recovery and full use of his leg has been anticipated eagerly by ourselves and our children for the last few months. Now, thanks to you, it will become a reality! The children have really been missing their walks and play time with their “Bleu Baby Boy” and we can all see that Ares feels the same”.
